History Behind the Bundt Cake

Likely you have seen the distinctive ring shaped bundt cake at a house warming party or two. Have you ever wondered why it’s shaped like a ring? We did a little research and found out why!

The ring shaped cake became popular after cookware manufacturer H. David Dalquist began producing “bundt” pans and trademarked the name. After winning a Pillsbury baking competition, Dalquist licensed the name for Pillsbury to use in cake mixes, popularizing the cake.

It’s all about the shape! There are no set ingredients or flavors required to meet “bundt cake” standards. Here at Wicked Jack’s, we prefer rum.
